Tis the Season for Compromise

The snowbirds are beginning to flock back to Florida.
"For Sale" signs are beginning to bloom.
Daytime temps are dipping into the 80's.
All sure signs Autumn is on its way!

Which means Halloween can't be too far behind. *sigh*

Pretty soon the little demons will be dressing up like their favorite full-grown demon.
Yipee! Sorry, but no Origins of Halloween post here. That subject has been done by many. Just Google it and read til your heart's content.

The thing that bugs me is the number of alleged "churches" that hold "Fall Festivals".
All these are is an attempt to sanitize Halloween. The reason? "Oh, we don't want our kids to feel like they're missing out on something."

Missing out on a lousy free bar of candy?!!???
Yeah, I guess if they don't get a Reese Cup, they'll grow up to be another Ted Bundy or Jeffrey Dahmer.

If you can't teach your kid to resist a bar of candy when they are 5, how in God's Name do you expect them to learn to resist some sweet young thing that comes their way in high school or college?

All these Fall Festivals do is postpone Parents' Reckoning Day, when they may actually have to parent.

Get a spine.
