Immediately after the election, retired Senator George Mitchell (D), suggested that the Democratic Party re-evaluate itself and its positions to better enable it to be victorious in future elections (translated as move back towards the center of the spectrum).
It seems their first step will be to select a new DNC chairman. And who is the front-runner?
Howard Dean! Guess they think the way back to the center is to lurch left (not that there is much further left remaining to go).
This may be a not-so-veiled attempt to get Dean out of the picture for 2008 so that the self-appointed savior of mankind, St. Hillary, will be unhindered.
